Symptoms of Eye Problems
If your child has these symptoms, make an appointment to be seen by a pediatric ophthalmologist.
Your child may have a vision problem if your child exhibits these symptoms or behaviors:
- Frequent eye rubbing
- Squinting or excessive blinking
- Avoiding reading and other close activities
- Frequent headaches
- Covering or closing one eye
- Tilting or turning the head to one side
- Light sensitivity or excessive tearing
- Drifting or crossing of an eye
- Seeing double
- Losing their place when reading or using a finger to guide their eyes when reading
